Greetings! We apologize for skipping our newsletter last week, but as you know the holiday season keeps everyone quite busy! We are incredibly grateful for the much-needed rain we’ve received over the last 2 weeks and none of our farmers have reported any serious damage from the storms a couple weeks ago or last week’s frost. While much of the country is taking a break from growing this time of year, we are blessed to live in a region with mild enough weather to make winter a great growing season! Citrus, greens, and squashes are doing well in Florida. Artzi Farms/Pita Queen, LLC are harvesting organic mustards and keeping busy growing organic garlic, onions, and carrots. We can’t wait until those are ready for your CSA boxes!
This week in your box you’ll find Artzi's mustards, zucchini, yellow squash, acorn squash, citrus, onion, and a variety of fresh greens from McClellan Farms, including cabbage, kale, collards, and lacinto.
We’d also like to remind you that we carry a nice variety of local gifts, canned, and specialty food items in our store. CSA members always get 5% off their in-store purchases (just mention you are a CSA member at the register). Now until December 23 we’re taking 15% off existing and build-your-own gift baskets. We also have gift certificates and gift CSA subscriptions available for purchase.
There will be CSA deliveries next week, but we will be taking a week off between Christmas and New Years, so please plan accordingly – NO CSA FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 29.
